Day 97: One down, two to go

Well that wasn’t so bad! I wrote my journalism exam today and it wasn’t as bad as I thought at all. Our prof said it would be exactly like the midterm but longer. Considering I barely finished the midterm before time was up (I kept scribbling frantically even as he was coming around to collect them), I blew through this exam at lightning speed. Seriously, I’m surprised my pen didn’t ignite my exam papers. I ended up finishing the two-hour exam in one hour. Awesome.

I still stayed for the whole time to check through my answers with a meticulousness that bordered on psychotic, but there was no way I was leaving early just so I could sit in my room, twiddle my thumbs and suddenly realize I should have circled C instead of D. I stuck it out until the end, and I think I did pretty well. It’s not perfect, but it definitely set a good tone for the rest of the exam season.

For the rest of the day, I should have been studying for Chinese, but that didn’t really happen. To be honest, I’m not too worried about that exam. I’ve been doing pretty well, since I do this crazy thing called paying attention in class so it’s not going to be too painful. I got through all the vocabulary today. Tomorrow will be a grammar day.

It’s getting pretty cold now in Ottawa. Today it was -22 degrees so there was no way I was going out there to get wind burn and lose all my toes. I was a tunnel rat, sadly. The school has turned on the heat in those tunnels now so now not only is the air stale, but it’s balmy too … mm mm good.

Now I’ve been sidetracked by my good friend Emily who has posted links to YouTube videos showcasing the jaw-dropping talent of the a cappella group, Straight No Chasers. They’re amazing! I’ve definitely found my Christmas album for the year. They make “Glee” look like a kindergarten Christmas pageant. My, my, people are so talented. How I wish I could sing without scaring away small children or rupturing eardrums.

Official countdown to home: 7 days

  1. -22?! I’d be locked in my room! Haha! You only have three finals! So lucky!
I love how we’re going to be back home on the same day. Want to grab lunch or something on the 17th?

    1. Hm, I don’t think I can make lunch on the 17th. I have a ton of appointments to go to (personal maintenance, a.k.a. I must tame the rat’s nest that was formally known as my hair). Perhaps Starbucks later in the afternoon or dinner?
